2007

Combines Williams testing duties with a drive in the GP2 series. Scores six podiums and ends the season fifth in the championship and rookie of the year. Promoted to a Williams race seat for the Brazilian round, and retains the drive for 2008.

2006

Competes in the Formula Three Euro Series, scoring one win to finish the season in seventh. Named Williams tester in November, becoming the first driver from Toyota's Development Programme to graduate to Formula One racing.

2005

A second season in Japanese Formula Three sees him finish runner-up behind Brazilian Joao Paulo Lima de Oliveira. Simultaneously enters several GT races in Japan.

2004

Finishes fifth in the Japanese Formula Three series after enjoying two race victories and four podiums.

2003

As a member of the Toyota Young Driver programme, competes in the Formula Toyota series. Wins the championship.
